Zarkava triumphant in the 2008 Prix de l'Arc de Trioimphe

Zarkava took the lead in deep stretch and drew off to win the 2008 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp by a 2 lengths over Youmzain, remaining undefeated in her career. It's Gino and Soldier of Fortune dead-heated for third. Get the results, chart, and photos here.
The Arc undercard stakes - the Prix de l'Opera, Prix de l'Abbaye, Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere, and Prix Marcel Boussac. All are Group 1 races.

2008 Pattison Canadian International

Long shot Marsh Side took the lead in the stretch and drew off by 1 3/4 lengths to win the 2008 Canadian International at Woodbine over even longer shot Spice Route with Champs Elysees third. Favorite Doctor Dino didn't fire and finished fifth. Get the results, chart, and photos here.

2008 Arc de Triomphe Weekend - Saturday Stakes Part 1

The day before the 2008 Arc de Triomphe featured the 7 furlong Prix de la Foret (G1) which was won by favorite Paco Boy (right) and the 2 1/2 mile Prix de Cadran (G1) won by Bannaby, both ridden by Christophe Soumillon. Get the results, charts, and photos for both here.

2008 E.P. Taylor, Nearctic, and Summer Stakes

Also on Candian International day, Folk Opera (right) went wire-to-wire, winning the 2008 E.P. Taylor Stakes (G1) by 1 3/4 lengths. In the Nearctic Stakes (G2), longshots ruled as True to Tradition won by a nose over Rouse the Cat. In the Summer Stakes (G3), Grand Adventure won by a head over Skipadate. 2008 Kentucky Cup Day at Turfway Park

September 27, 2008, was Turfway Park's big Breeders' Cup prep weekend with the 5 Kentucky Cup races. The big event was the Kentucky Cup Classic (G2) won by 3-year-old Zanjero. Canadian trainer Reade Baker and jockey Eurico Rosa Da Silva had a big day winning both the Distaff and the Sprint with Bear Now and Fatal Bullet. Curlin wins the 2008 Jockey Club Gold Cup

2008 Beldame and Vosburgh Stakes

Cocoa Beach (outside) won the 2008 Beldame stakes by half a length in the slop at Belmont Park over defending champ Ginger Punch. 2008 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic and Flower Bowl Invitational
